On this very special day, a lot of happy SONEs are celebrating Choi Sooyoung's birthday. But not just SONEs, people close to her all around the world are joining in the party as well.

Earlier today, multi-talented singer/model/actress Arden Cho reposted a picture of Sooyoung and herself during SMTOWN LA. A lot of people, including Soshified, noticed this and Arden Cho was kind enough to reply to us regarding the shikshin's birthday. She even asked Sooyoung to make a twitter, although SM Entertainment would probably prohibit that.

It was just as well that Arden suggested that, because SONEs got "Choi Sooyoung" to trend a few hours before 12AM KST yesterday night! It was unplanned, and just as unintentional as the trending around 7-9PM KST (and still going). Arden Cho saw the trending topics list and posted up more pictures to join in the fun.

A SONE asked her to describe Sooyoung as a friend, and her reply shows just how amazing our kind-hearted Sooyoung is.

Sooyoung thought she was the prettiest before meeting SNSD members

On SBS ‘One Night’s TV Entertainment’ aired on February 10th, SNSD was interviewed at a cosmetic product CF shooting set.

During the interview, Sooyoung said, “Honestly, before I met SNSD members, I thought I was the prettiest girl in the world”, a confession that shocked the other members.

She then added, “However, after meeting the other SNSD members, I realized that I’m actually not that pretty. Really not that pretty”,praising her Soshi sisters’ beauty.

4th Gold Disc Cert for SNSD

According to Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), SNSD’s ‘New Beginning of Girls’ Generation‘Commemorative DVD has successfully obtained the Gold Disc Certificate.

Gold Disc Certificates are given as acknowledgement by the association to albums selling more than 100,000 copies. The DVD was released in August last year, ahead of SNSD’s Japanese debut. It has been 6 months since their debut and SNSD are enjoying great success in Japan.

This is SNSD’s 4th consecutive Gold Disc Certificates after their Japanese debut. Previously, SNSD’s First Japanese Debut Single ‘Genie’, 2nd Japanese Single ‘Gee’ and Licensed 3rd Mini Album ‘Hoot’ sold more than 100,000 copies respectively and each of these albums had been certified Gold by RIAJ.

SNSD who recently released their new Japanese single ‘Run Devil Run’ are expected to release their 3rd Japanese Single soon and proceed with their Japanese activities.

Meanwhile, their sunbaes, TVXQ’s ‘Why? (Keep Your Head Down)’ has been awarded Platinum by RIAJ. In Japan, it sold more than 250,000 copies to date.

‘Gee’ is one of the favorite Valentine’s Day songs in Japan

From a survey carried out in Japan to determine the ‘Valentine’s Day Love Song‘, Kara and SNSD‘s songs were ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The survey which involved 70,000 participants was conducted by Avex’s music sales company, ‘mu-mo‘. According to Japan’s music information site, ‘BARKS’ on February 10th, Kara’s ‘Mister’ and SNSD’s ‘Gee’ took the 2nd and 3rd spot respectively. According to an article, it was believed that the lyrics of these two songs played an important role in the participants’ selections.

In the same survey, Kana Nishino took 1st while Perfume came in 4th. Japanese Diva, Ayumi Hamasaki’s song secured the 5th spot in the survey.

SNSD-Big Bang, Number 1 Idols To Spend Valentine's Day With

Groups SNSD and Big Bang were chosen as the idols people want to have a Valentine's Day date with.

The karaoke instrumental and music portal site, ikaraoke, held a poll from the 27th for 6 days asking 537 members (321 male, 216 female) and others in their 20s~30s, which idol group they would want to spend Valentine's Day with.

The number one idol chosen by men was SNSD (41%), with IU in second (32%). This was SNSD's 3rd consecutive win for the same poll, and showed that the 'IU wave', that hit Korea like a comet, had no effect on them.

SONEs conveyed birthday messages to Sooyoung through newspaper ad

In celebration of Sooyoung’s birthday, fans got their birthday messages to Sooyoung published on a newspaper.

Sooyoung celebrate her 21st (Korean – 22nd) birthday on February 10th. For her birthday, SONEs published their birthday wishes and messages on February 10th issue of Sportschosun newspaper. In the messages, fans stated, “You are always giving out bright smiles. You look beautiful even without putting any make-up and even without  much facial expression, your stories are always warm and refreshing. Your heart is so beautiful as you have gone places to reach out to less fortunate people. We would like to thank you for your unwavering heart and voices to us fans and we will always give you our unwavering cheers, support and love just like the beginning”, conveying their sincere love and support for Sooyoung. The messages ended with a birthday greeting, “February 10th is SNSD’s Sooyoung’s 22nd birthday. We sincerely wish the beautiful-hearted Sooyoung a happy birthday”.

Ahead of Sooyoung’s birthday, SNSD fancafe ‘Cistus’ carried out some voluntary work and donated 2 million won to Disabled Children Foundation in Gwangju on January 29th. Sunny’s aegyo goes international!!

Sunny’s ‘Jubuae’ (commonly known as ‘aegyo’) is gaining popularity internationally.

Recently, an american girl uploaded a video of herself on popular video site, YouTube. The girl introduced herself and expressed her intention of making the video – to act out Sunny’s aegyo. In the video, she did the ‘Oppa Oppa, I’m hungry’ with variety of cute actions to go with it. Even before the start of KBS ‘Invincible Youth’, Sunny has already been known for her overflowing aegyo which would arouse much ‘reactions’ from fans, viewers and even her own Soshi sisters.

At times, it was too much that the aegyo was described as ‘asking for a punch’. Netizens who watched the YouTube video commented, “Sunny is cuter”, “Sunny’s jubuae is so 4D” and “Somehow, she looks like Song Jihyo”.

On Mnet‘s ‘Trend Report Feel‘ aired on February 9th, 12am KST, the fashion styles of stars attending various events were being compared. Besides Tiffany, other ‘candidates’ were Ha Jiwon, IU, Jo Yeojung, Hong SooA, etc.

Among SNSD members, who has the most prominent princess-like behavior?

On SBS ‘One Night’s TV Entertainment‘ to be aired on February 20th, an interview with SNSD was conducted on the set of a cosmetic product advertisement shooting/filming.

Netizens Choose 'Tiffany' As the Top Idol

Tiffany was recently chosen as the official idol league site Korea Top Face's 'Top Idol Of 2011' from the '2011 January Premier League'.

Nowadays, 'trend=IU' has been spreading like wildfire, but what the actual trendy idol netizens think of is different.

One person that runs Korea Top Face league explained this by saying, "Korea Top Face League is run with a 5-part minor league. The votes are taken through phone or internet picks, and each person is limited to one vote under that specific IP address, allowing people to see a direct reflection of the votes."

The results of the January Premier League were Tiffany in the first division, Yoona in the second, Hyoyeon in third, Victoria in fourth, and Yang Yoseob in the fifth division.

When it comes to the winner of the premier league, Tiffany, she was in the running for first against Taeyeon, who seemed to have secured her top position. The SNSD member who thought she was the prettiest in the world will be revealed.

On the 10th, SBS 'Midnight TV Entertainment' will air their interview with SNSD on the set of their makeup CF set.

SM Entertainment artistes dominate 2010 Gaon chart

SM Entertainment have proven their dominance in the music industry once again by  conquering the 2010 Gaon Chart in terms of music sales.

At Seoul Press Center on February 9th, 3pm KST, Top 20 music sales was announced through the ‘Gaon Chart 2010 Closing Award Ceremony and Proclamation of 2011 Vision’.

In terms of music sales, Super Junior and SNSD took the top 4 spots. Super Junior’s 4th album ‘Bonamana’ was ranked 1st with total sales of 200,193 copies.SNSD took 2nd, 3rd and 4th spot through their 2nd Album ‘Oh!’ (197,934 copies), 3rd Mini Album ‘Hoot’ (163,066 copies) and 2nd Album Repackaged ‘Run Devil Run’ (136,851 copies) respectively.

Besides taking the top spot, Super Junior’s 4th album repackaged ‘Bonamana’ also secured the no.9 spot. Another SM Entertainment artistes, SHINee also managed 2 places in the top 20. Their 2010 album ‘Lucifer’ and its repackaged edition ‘Hello’ were ranked 6th and 20th respectively. Out of the top 20 spots, there were 7 entries in total involving SM Entertainment artistes.

Meanwhile, miss A topped the ‘Online Category’ with ‘Bad Girl Good Girl’ while Lee Seungchul’s ‘That Person’ secured the top spot for the ‘Mobile Category’.

Recently at an interview with a microblogging site on Daum,YOZM, Big Bang’s Seungri gave answers regarding his friendship with SNSD and other fellow entertainers which sparked interest among netizens.

In his answer, Seungri mentioned about himself and SNSD. Seungri said, “I’ve made a lot of contacts in this line. Although I used to be close to SNSD members, I could not really say it is the same nowadays, honestly. I will not mention further about it”.

SNSD usually eat to their hearts’ content

SNSD’s diet has recently become one of the hot topics among netizens and media.

On SBS ‘Bae Kiwan, Choi YoungA and Jo Hyunggi’s Good Morning‘ aired on February 7th, SNSD’s diet has been revealed again but this time, with more elaboration by SNSD’s trainer, Kim Jihoon. Fans have shown their concern over the revelation of Seohyun’s medical check-up result which showed that she is underweight by 9kg.

As reported earlier, SNSD maintain their slim figure by following controlled diet consisting of chicken breast meat, brown rice, herbs, broccoli, etc.

On this, Kim Jihoon explained, “Ahead of concerts or program broadcast, the girls will maintain their 1500kCal food intake. On normal days, they love eating snacks”. This means that although the girls love eating snacks, they will adhere to their controlled diet when the need arises and that is how SNSD members keep their slim figures.

Girls’ Generation for Vita500

Pop sensation Girls’ Generation are speculated to be the new faces of Vita500, a health and vitamin drink marketed by Kwang Dong Pharmacy with over 8 times the daily allowance of Vitamin-C. Vita500, unlike most energy drinks, has no caffeine, making it not only a healthier alternative to many others, but also a wildly popular drink, whose popularity is now (hopefully) to be supplemented by the girls.

Along with After School member Uee, the 9 ladies of Girls’ Generation are strongly suspected to have reached an agreement with Vita500 on the 8th, and a possible CF is now in the making. Girls’ Generation and Uee were apparently selected to be the finalists for the company’s advertising campaign, being ideal models for the drink because of their youthful image and healthy concepts.

If this turns out to be true, then Vita500, which only comes in one flavor, apple, is about to get 10 more, though nothing is confirmed yet because of “contractual circumstances.”

Girls' Generation Members Confirmed as Dior Models

Recently, rumors surfaced that members of Girls' Generation would sign on as models for the cosmetics company Dior. Those rumors became official as Ceci Korea posted a contest on their Twitter involving the members. Fans are being given a chance to ask new Dior models Yuri, Sunny, Jessica, Hyoyeon, Tiffany, and Sooyoung questions relating to beauty and skin care. Fans can tweet questions to @cecikorea, and three lucky winners will be chosen and given some Dior makeup as a gift.

In addition, Ceci Korea is expanding that contest to involve Yoona, who signed on with the cosmetics company Innisfree. Like the contest with the members who are now Dior models, fans can tweet questions about makeup techniques and beauty tips to Yoona through @cecikorea. Three winners will be chosen to receive Innisfree foundation makeup.

Seohyun, Taeyeon, and Yoona are currently not involved with the Dior deal due to their existing contracts with Clean & Clear, A-Solution, and Innisfree, respectively. The new deal with Dior is an exciting opportunity for the group, as Dior is a brand with worldwide recognition and respect. Number One Song During Lunar New Years is Kim Bumsoo-Taeyeon's 'Different'

Kim Bumsoo and Taeyeon's duet single 'Different' took the number one spot on music charts this Lunar New Year.

After revealing the song the past 31st at 12 AM, the single stood at the top of online music charts on the 5th. 'Different' is currently number one on music sites Dosirak, Soribada, Bugs, and Monkey3.

This song was created by lyricist, composer, album producer, and singer, Park Sunzoo. This was an early release, as the duet is one that will be included in Kim Bumsoo's upcoming 7th album, 'SOLISTA : Part 2', which is scheduled to be avaiable in April.

Kim Bumsoo's management explained, "As Taeyeon is a junior Kim Bumsoo cares for, and is the lead vocal of one of the representative girl groups SNSD, he suggested to have her take part in the duet. We got to work together after she and her management willingly obliged."

Meaning of May 15 to SNSD Sunny ... One in a 130,000?

[Seoul=Newsis] Sunny and Her Sisters Are 1 in 130,000?

For the families of Pam Vanwell (35), who live in United Kingdom's South Wale's Burry Port, their special day is the September 5th. It is because three of their kids, Jack (9), Alicia (7), and Miley (1), share the same birthday. It is known to be true that there is a 1 in 133,000 chance for three sisters and brothers to be born on the same day.

For the families of Sunny (22•Lee Soonkyu), their special day is May 15th. Including herself, her oldest sister, Eunkyu, who is 15 years older than her, and her second sister, Jinkyu, who is 10 years older than her, share the same birthday. Sunny's mother follows her birthday on lunar calendar, and sometimes her birthday overlaps with the date of May 15 on solar calendar.

Sunny's father, who is the only man of the house, goes through the burden whenever this day approaches, treating out three ladies of the house.

Meanwhile, Pam's family, who owns a car rental shop, stated that it's like celebrating another Christmas when their kids' birthday comes up.
