Shoujo Jidai SNSD bagged ‘Best Pop Video Award’



SNSD’s Japanese debut song ‘Genie’ was crowned the ‘Best Pop Video Award’ at the ‘Space Shower Music Video Awards’ on April 10th.
According to a Twitter account, ‘SNSDinJapan’, winners for the 15th Space Shower Music Video Awards were chosen from about 4,000 music videos released in 2010.
Congratulations to the girls for winning the ‘Best Pop Video Award’ and it was truly an amazing achievement and acknowledgement since their Japan debut in September last year.

“Vita 500″ releases individual posters of SNSD’s Yoona, Tiffany, & Yuri

Vita 500” has released individual promo posters featuring SNSD’s YoonaTiffany, and Yuri!

Through their official Twitter on March 10th, “Vita 500″ wrote, “You’ve all waited for Yoona’s poster, right? Very elegant!
Wearing simple attire and natural-looking makeup, the girls amazed netizens with their ability to turn even a drink ad into an elegant pictorial.

Netizens replied, “Where can we get these posters?,” “The representative beauty of innocence!”, “It’d be daebak if we could get the other members’ posters”, and “Just looking at it makes me feel revitalized with vitamins.”

Their official Twitter will be releasing the remaining posters soon, so stay tuned.

No Korean version of ‘Mr.Taxi’?



After the announcement of SNSD’s 3rd Japanese Single ‘Mr. Taxi’ which will be released on April 13th, fans must be wondering if the Korean version of the single would be released. The question was finally answered.

A representative of SM Entertainment explained, “Currently, there is no plan to record the Korean version of ‘Mr.Taxi’ or any promotional activities related to it in Korea”.

From pretty girls to handsome men



SNSD’s individual charms have caught the attention of fans and netizens once again.
On MBC’s ‘Section TV Entertainment Relay’ which will be aired on March 12th, the staff of the program met up with SNSD at a photo shoot set where the girls’ unique transformations were revealed.
With their respective new looks, Sooyoung and Yuri have undergone the most notable transformations among SNSD members. At the set, both Sooyoung and Yuri’s new manly look with some feminine twist amazed everyone, including the members of the staff.
Sooyoung who felt a little weird with the new look cracked a joke saying, “I’m a Soonam (Soo-Man)’. Recently, Sooyoung took a photo with her sister, Soojin who is a musical actress. When asked about her sister, Sooyoung confessed, “At first, I was happy because my sister is pretty”. She then added, “If our sister becomes a member of SNSD, we would not be known as ‘Beautiful-Legs’ group”, a remark that drew laughter from everyone on the set.
Known for family members with special traits, SNSD members complimented each other. The members told Jessica, “You are prettier than Krystal”. Upon hearing that, the girls had a good laugh at their own remarks.

Middle School Yoona Revealed, "Same Face, Taller"



Photos of Yoona when she was in middle school were recently revealed and have been garnering attention.

An online community site grabbed the attention of netizens by posting capture photos of Yoona during her middle school days.

The photos posted were from TVXQ's 'Magic Castle' music video back in 2004, when Yoona was a 15 year old middle schooler.

What made the photos become such a hot topic was Yoona's unchanged beauty.

Netizens showed various responses saying, "Beauty since birth,  confirmed", "Middle schooler Yoona, so loveable", and, "Only her body  grew," not hesitating to compliment her.

Lee Jung shows his love for SNSD, 2NE1, & IU



These days, interest has been running high on which girl groups or singers male entertainers became fans of while they were serving in the military.

Singer Lee Jung was recently discharged from the marines, and while he appeared on “Kim Jung Eun’s Chocolate” on the 14th, he revealed his favorite female idols.

During his segment, Kim Jung Eun asked the singer, “I’ve heard that you’ve prepared some fun and spectacular performances“. Lee Jung replied, “I’m going to be playing the songs that gave me a lot of strength during my time in the army, but with my own twist.”

Lee Jung then sat down at a keyboard and introduced his song to the audience. “When I was ranked low in the army, I had a lot of hard times. Right then I heard a song that was claiming 1st place on the charts. I’ve only heard the song but I felt really good. I’m going to be playing the song in my style; it’ll be dedicated to the artist.”

The singer received a enthusiastic response from the audience when he played SNSD’s “Gee“, 2NE1’s “I Don’t Care“, and IU’s “Good Day“.

The Most Popular Celebrities and Songs this Valentine's!



The SNSD girls have once again proven their international popularity, recently topping a Valentine's Day survey conducted by Thailand's Ministry of Public Health in collaboration with Suan Dusit Poll. 

Out of 431 males and 581 females between the ages of 12 - 24, 47% replied that they already had a lover; roses were elected as the most sought-after gift, traveling was chosen as the best activity to share with a lover, the most romantic place to according to Thai teens was proven to be the sea, while lovers beat out parents when it came to who people wanted to give their Valentine's Day gifts. SNSD came out on top when the topic was which celebrity Thai youths wished to be their Valentine; beating out Thai hotties Nadech Kugimiya and Pae Arak Amornsupasiri, singers Natthew and Bie The Star, and politician Abhisit Vejjajiva.

Popular Korean portal site, Daum, also held a poll with the topic "Good Songs For Confessing to a Girl on Valentine's Day". "Oh!", the lead track from SNSD's second full-album came in at lucky number 9; quite a feat considering it's a track completely directed at males. However, it does carry the message any male would want to hear from the object of their affections. 

"Oh Oh Oh Oppa, Saranghae !"

Meanwhile, Shin Min-Ah's "ShaLaLa" took the #1 spot, with Narsha's "I'm In Love" and Davichi's "From Me To You" coming in at #2 and #3 respectively.

SNSD fans donated blood to Leukemia Patient Group under Sooyoung's name



SNSD fans brought about warmth through a meaningful, good deed.

On the 15th, the person in charge of SNSD's fan cafe revealed, "We collected 107 blood donation certificates from various cafe members, and donated them to the Korea Leukemia Patient Group under SNSD member Sooyoung's name."

This was planned by representative SNSD fan cafe 'Hwa Soo Eun Hwa', and had members from the fan cafe 'Cistus' participate.

One member that participated in this blood drive, Kim, stated, "I'm glad to have been able to do a meaningful deed last year, as well as this year. I hope the donations are of some help."

SNSD fans collected blood donation certificates last year as well. Fans have also been active in other types of donations and volunteer work.

Korea Republic and Celtic’s Central Midfielder, Ki Seungyong is jealous of the Yongseo couple.
On February 15th, Ki tweeted, “I’m jealous of Yongseo Couple…WGM is fun…hahahaha”, expressing his envy of the couple’s loving ‘married’ life.

SNSD’s appearance ranking revealed



An appearance ranking list was recently released on internet portal, Bestiz. The ranking was given based on the grades given by a group of plastic surgeons. The assessment was done not only based on looks alone but also other parameters such as face, height and physical proportions.
Based on these criteria, the girls were given points on a scale of 0.5 to 5.0, where 0.5 is the lowest point and 5.0 is the highest point.
Here are the scores:

Yuri – 4.4 points
Seohyun – 3.6 points
Sooyoung – 2.9 points
Jessica – 2.7 points
Tiffany – 2.3 points

SNSD to add ‘Pop Music Award’ to their trophy collection




SNSD, Rain, Jon Doyeon, Lee Bumsoo, etc are among the award recipients at ’2nd Korea Republic Seoul Cultural Arts Awards‘ organized by ‘Seoul Cultural Arts Association‘.
The award ceremony which will be held at Seoul Olympic Park at 7pm KST on February 28th is different from other award ceremonies as audience will be introduced to the richness of Korean culture and presented with various cultural performances.There will be a total of 11 categories of awards altogether to acknowledge those who have contributed in spreading Korea’s culture in 2010 through broadcast, movies, songs, etc.

Japanese music producer compares AKB48 to SNSD



Jpop composer cum producer Ryosuke Imai hinted that the country’s music is in some sort of a turmoil.
In the evening of February 11th, Imai tweeted, “I have watched AKB48′s performance on Fuji TV’s FNS Song Festival. The music, vocal projection, dance, style and everything are lacking behind SNSD. There’s nothing comparable“.
He added, “Composers and artists will be feeling the crisis as much as I do. It’s useless to just voice out complaints. A cooperation to remedy the situation is necessary”.
Ryosuke Imai is one of the top producers in Japan. He has been producing and working with big stars like Ayumi Hamasaki, Beni, K, AI, Double, etc. He had also produced some remix titles with artistes like Rain, Da Pump, Crystal Kay, BoA, etc.

‘Different’ topped Dosirak’s Weekly Chart



Taeyeon and Kim Bumsoo’s duet ‘Different’ is no.1 on Dosirak’s Weekly Chart for Week 2 of February (February 6th to February 12th). The song charted at no.12 on Week 1 of February but soared all the way to the top in the space of just a week.
